Bounce into 2012!

Another year has come and gone! It is time to BOUNCE into 2012. As I look back over the past year I can see that I have had many successes and failures. I may or may not have gained a few pounds, my hair has gotten longer, and I even learned a new language. Every year we go through changes, we become accustomed to these changes and we make it a part of our normal routine, it becomes just a part of our daily life, with no significance. As we have these changes come up throughout our lives, we need to make sure that there is “ONE” thing that we never make “JUST” a part of life, it needs to be our drive, our focus, our reason to keep bouncing. That one thing is to REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE A DAUGHTER OF GOD and you are worth something.

For Christmas my brother's received these Hoppity Balls, and now none of my family members can stop bouncing. We have tried to see who can bounce the highest, who can balance the longest, and who can bounce through an entire movie. Through our games there have been quite a few crashes, a few broken household items, some tears, but many laughs. As a New Year comes, people tend to set new goals. As you try and achieve these goals, there will be some “ups” and “downs,” and you might fall off. Just remember, there is always a reason to get back on the ball and bounce again, because...

You're a Daughter of God, and You're Hot!

BIRTHDAY GIRL!

I am an enthusiast of birthdays. It is my favorite holiday of the year. I have the privilege of having my birthday just days before Christmas. I always get the question, “Is it hard to have your birthday so close to Christmas?” That question has taken me a long time to answer. Today, I can tell you I LOVE IT. The reason I love it, is because people show me how much they love me by their actions and their words.
During the Christmas Season, sometimes I get caught up in the “commercial” side and I forget the TRUE MEANING of Christmas. My birthday is always a wonderful WAKE UP CALL. I am reminded that Christmas is all about the birth of our Savior, and he should be the main focus. Everyone around me always lets me be the main focus for my birthday; I should let Him be the main focus on Christmas. I love having my birthday close to Christmas, because it reminds me of my Saviors birth and what he has done for me.

I BELIEVE THAT WE WILL WIN!!!

Today I got to go to the FAMOUS POTATO BOWL to support the Utah State University football team. Throughout the game, you could hear many different AGGIE fans yelling "I BELIEVE THAT WE WILL WIN!" I was one of those fans, screaming and shouting to support my team. In the first three quarters, it looked like we were in for the win. To our disappointment, Ohio scored and won by ONE point in the last minute. We were devastated, we thought we had the WIN...we had believed!!!
Every Aggie in the Stadium had believed that we could win, but in the end we did not :[
As unfortunate as it was, I realized that we had tried. When we BELIEVE in something we ACT upon it or try and that is what matters most. I know that the AGGIE players believed that they could win, and so they played, they TRIED! Sometimes our beliefs are challenged by unexpected outcomes, but that doesn't mean that we have lost.
GO AGGIES :]

I am not forgotten...

I know I am not forgotten because of the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. He has never forgotten one of us, and during Christmas we should not forget him.
Check out this video it helped me to remember what Christmas is really about!

FINALLY...FINALS

As I skimmed through Facebook today, I saw that more then half of my friends were talking about FINALS and finishing the semester. Since I am not taking classes, I felt a little bit left out on the whole FINALS thing, so I started down memory lane. I remembered a final that I had taken my freshman year of college. It was for Math 1050, definitely my worst subject... I decided that I hated the subject so much that I was not going to put very much time into studying for it, all I could think was, “Man, I will just say a prayer and I will pass it!” To my astonishment, I failed it. I had sat down and said a prayer asking Heavenly Father if he would help me remember all of the things that I had learned...He did, turns out I did not learn too much. That is when I learned, if you want some “Heavenly Help,” you are going to need to do YOUR PART. I know you are all trying hard, just remember that what you put in, you will get out. Make sure you pray when you study and pray when you take your test, and that "Heavenly Help” will come to your side.

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR FINALS!!!

Rebel To Rescued...

Last night I had a dream that my Mission President, Jack R.. Christianson asked me to come back to New York for a few months. I said YES of course and told him that my bags were still packed...When I woke up, I realized how much I miss serving the Lord in New York. As I have gone about my day, I think I have brought up “my mission” about every 5 minutes. I miss the feeling of watching people change because they have found the TRUTH. Today, my brother sent me this link “Dear Elder,” it was a video from a girl named Al Fox, who was baptized in the Rochester Mission. While watching it I had that spark I was missing come back into me like a fire cracker on the 4th of July. As I started to look through her blog and her pictures, I knew one thing about her... She knows it's true and she wants to share it! Her conversion story is one of inspiration to members, people investigating The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints and the wonderful missionaries who are serving. Al is right...NEVER GIVE UP... Everyone needs to be rescued, it may not seem easy at first, but when truth hits, it will leave an impression. Al Fox is not ashamed of who she is, she has come to know that

She is a Daughter of God and She's HOT!!!

Sista, Sista!!!

-Sisters-

I have two WONDERFUL sisters, that I look up to a lot. It has been so much fun to get to know them as an “adult” and not the annoying little sister. What I have noticed about all three of us, is that we are each DIFFERENT. My sister Emily, loves to run, hike, ride bikes, and talk food. My sister LauriAnn loves to study history, go on road trips, read books, and watch Boise State Football. I like to watch t.v shows, play on computers, golf, and snowboard. As you can see we are each different, HOWEVER we each have something in common, we are Daughters of God, and he loves us. There are going to be many different Girls that you will meet and interact with, some you might not get along with, and some may be your best friends. When you find those girls who might ACT different, or doesn't dress like you, or have the newest things, ALWAYS remember that THEY too are Daughters of God, and He loves them, treat them how He treats you...with LOVE

Remember You're a Daughter of God, and You're HOT!

We start routines to become better people, routines become habits, and habits become lifestyles. While serving a mission I started with a routine that has become a lifestyle. Every Night I would tell my companions before they fell asleep that they were daughters of God, and they were hot. As daughters of God, we have so many things in this world that put us down, we do not need to be one of those thingsthat contributes. When we UNDERSTAND that we are daughters of God, we love ourselves and can become the daughter of God that we have been sent to be. We are worth something, and we are beautiful to him, even on those bad hair days.

The next time you look in the mirror and think, “man another zit!” Try telling yourself,

I'm a Daughter of God, and I'm Hot!”
